Meet Ashley

I've been doing flowers since 2013, married since 2016, and live in Denver with my hubs and son and our 2 pups! I was an executive assistant before I was a full-time florist, and it prepared me well to be a wedding floral designer... in many ways!

I love Jesus, my family, animals, home décor, reading, movies, Instagram, dancing and coffee. I rarely eat meat despite my grandma operating a cattle farm... I'm afraid of bugs, answering the door when I'm home alone and flying.

I'm a believer in authentic beauty that touches the heart without words and that points to the One who created it. I believe beauty can change the world and my floral designs are my small contribution to this hope.

Philosophy - Beauty + Design

A creative at heart, I’ve found flowers to have a transformative effect on events and people. When I started in flowers, I knew I had found my calling.

I’m often moved by beauty, whether it’s a beautiful mountain views, which still take me by surprise even as a Colorado native, a huge moon rising in the east or something less aesthetic, like a heartfelt story/movie, certain songs, or someone stopping to talk to a homeless person and treat them with dignity. I think beauty is a gift from God that allows us to know him on a deeper level because it cuts straight to our hearts. Beauty is a subtle nod to His goodness.

I love getting to know my clients because it’s important for me to understand their overall vision and be able to dedicate attention to the details that matter most to them.

My style is garden-inspired. I love a variety of blooms and greenery in my arrangements and design them to have a naturally grown look. I practice the art of restraint, recognizing beauty is often simple. I love working both with neutrals and lots of color and allow my client’s initial ideas to drive my creative inspiration to make their flowers both beautiful and personal.

Background

Looking back, I can see how my natural talents and life experiences have prepared me to live this dream. I had a roundabout way of finding flowers, I always knew I wanted to do something creative and artistic but found myself often in administrative roles where my attention to detail and ability to stay organized were helpful and valued. Within those roles, I also often found myself practicing hospitality. All of these skills have come in handy as a florist too. I’ve found being highly organized, my attention to detail, hospitality, ability to think through logistics and being flexible and accommodating under pressure has prepared me well to help design and execute beautiful weddings.

It wasn’t until October 2011, when I lost my grandpa and needed to help my grandma and mom with all the funeral arrangements, that I discovered my call to work with flowers. As I experienced firsthand with my own family (for my grandpa’s service) and with friends (picking out flowers for weddings) I realized with life’s main events flowers play an important role, as does the florist. To be with people in these moments and walk with them and bring beauty to the very things that matter most is more fulfilling than I could have hoped for. I am grateful to work creatively with my hands and accompany people in a significant and beautiful way.

All this to say, I’m hooked on flowers and wedding floral design in particular. There is something so unique and special about two lives becoming one and it’s an honor to be able to reflect the beauty of a marriage just beginning.
